Private Mentorship

Apply For Private Mentorship

One-on-one mentorship with Mike for coaches who want a plan, not more information.

Welcome my friend!

First off, I just want to say thanks so much for your interest in working together.

I’m genuinely excited you’re here, and about us potentially working together to help you level up as a program designer and coach.

But I also want to be real with you: this only works if we’re a great fit for each other.

That means you’re hungry to level up.

You’re willing to put in real work.

And you see the value in what I can offer.

This isn’t a program-building service where I just hand you materials and you spit it back out.

This is a real partnership where we work together to make you a better coach, faster.

So if that sounds like you, let’s do this!

Below you’ll find an application. Be honest and thorough with your answers.

Your goal isn’t to impress me. It’s to tell me where you actually are so I can help.

The more transparent you are, the more I can do for you.

I only work with a small number of mentees at any point in time, so if you’re serious about leveling up, submit this as soon as possible.

How the mentorship works

  • A 30-minute intro call to dig into what you’re struggling with and plan your mentorship.
  • A 55-minute coaching call each month to review where you are, answer your questions and set homework for the next 4 weeks.
  • Direct access between calls via email and audio message.
  • $499/month, minimum 4 months, then month to month.

Let’s dive in!

The application

Section 1: Your basketball context

Section 2: Where you’re at and what’s not working

Here’s how I think about coaching: it’s a progression.

  • First you need a solid foundation in biomechanics and movement philosophy.
  • Then you assess, so you can actually see what’s going on with your athletes.
  • Then you design programs that address what you found and which try to create specific adaptations.
  • Then you coach and cue, getting them to execute at a high level.
  • And finally you maintain interpersonal connection, keeping them motivated and coming back for weeks, months, and hopefully years on end.

Most coaches have gaps somewhere in this chain, and that’s normal. My job is to help you identify the gap and close it.

Tell me about the gap between what you program and what actually gets done.

On a scale of 1-10, how confident are you in your overall coaching process? *

1 = Not confident at all. 10 = Extremely confident.

Section 3: Your motivation and commitment

On a scale of 1-10, how motivated are you to level up your coaching skills right now? *

1 = Not motivated at all. 10 = Super motivated and ready to go RIGHT NOW.

Note: Be honest here. If you’re not at a 9 or 10, this probably isn’t the right time.

Here’s the real talk: this mentorship requires you to do the work. I’ll guide you, give you frameworks, and help you re-think your approach, but you’re the one building and implementing your programs.

Are you prepared to put in the effort to learn, apply what you’re learning, and iterate on your own approach? *

Section 4: Financial and logistics

The mentorship is $500/month. Does that fit your budget? *

Section 5: You and my work
